Ingredients

  • 1 lb breakfast sausage (pork or turkey)

  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 packet (2.75 oz) country gravy mix or homemade gravy (see notes)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp paprika (optional)
  • Cooking spray or butter for greasing

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven
    Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook the Sausage
    In a skillet over medium heat, cook sausage until browned and crumbled. Drain excess grease.
  3. Prepare the Gravy
    Make gravy according to package instructions (or homemade). Set aside.
  4. Assemble the Casserole
    Spread biscuit pieces evenly in the baking dish. Top with cooked sausage and shredded cheese.
  5. Egg Mixture
    In a bowl, whisk eggs, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Pour over casserole.
  6. Add Gravy
