  • 2 cups diced cooked ham
  • 2 cups corn (fresh, frozen, or canned)
  • 2 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
  • ½ tsp dried thyme
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • Optional garnish: chopped parsley, chives, or shredded cheddar

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add onion and celery; cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in garlic and cook 30 seconds.
  4. Sprinkle in flour and cook 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  5. Gradually whisk in chicken broth and milk until smooth.
  6. Add potatoes, ham, corn, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  7. Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce to a simmer.
  8. Cook 18–22 minutes, until potatoes are tender.
  9. Stir in heavy cream, adjust seasoning, and serve warm.
