Ingredients

  • 12 oz mushrooms, sliced (cremini or baby bella)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • ½ cup vegetable or chicken broth
  • ½ cup heavy cream (optional for creamy version)
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta
    Boil pasta in salted water until al dente. Reserve ½ cup pasta water, then drain.
  2. Sauté Mushrooms
    Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
    Add mushrooms and cook 6–8 minutes until browned and tender.
  3. Add Garlic & Seasoning
    Stir in garlic, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Cook 30 seconds.
  4. Build the Sauce
    Pour in broth and simmer 2–3 minutes.
    For a creamy version, stir in heavy cream and simmer until slightly thickened.
  5. Combine
    Add pasta and Parmesan. Toss well, adding reserved pasta water as needed.
  6. Serve
    Season to taste and garnish with parsley and extra Parmesan.
