Ingredients

  • 12 oz spaghetti or rice noodles

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce (optional but recommended)
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1–2 tablespoons brown sugar or honey
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • Salt, to taste
  • Optional add-ins:
  • Shredded carrots
  • Sautéed bell peppers
  • Cooked shrimp or chicken
  • Steamed broccoli

Instructions

  1. Cook the Noodles
    Boil noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Make the Sauce
    In a small bowl, whisk soy sauce, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, and brown sugar.
  3. Sauté Garlic
    Heat sesame oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
    Add garlic and cook 30–45 seconds until fragrant (do not brown).
  4. Combine
    Add cooked noodles and pour sauce over top. Toss well to coat.
  5. Finish
    Stir in green onions and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Adjust seasoning.
  6. Serve
    Serve warm or chilled.
