Ingredients

  • Brownie Dough
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ⅔ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • Peanut Butter Dough
  • ½ cup creamy peanut butter
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Make brownie dough:
In a bowl, whisk melted butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. Stir in cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, and salt until just combined.
  3. Make peanut butter dough:
Cream peanut butter and softened butter. Mix in brown sugar, egg, and vanilla. Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Scoop about 1 tablespoon of each dough. Press lightly together and gently twist or fold to create a swirl effect (do not fully blend).
  5. Place on baking sheet 2 inches apart.
  6. Bake 10–12 minutes, until edges are set but centers remain soft.
  7. Cool on baking sheet 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Sprinkle with flaky salt if desired.

Notes

  • Do not overbake; cookies will continue to set as they cool.
  • For thicker cookies, chill dough balls for 20–30 minutes before baking.
