4 salmon fillets (5–6 oz each)
-
2 tablespoons olive oil
-
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
-
1 teaspoon ground cumin
-
½ teaspoon ground coriander
-
½ teaspoon garlic powder
-
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
-
¾ teaspoon salt
-
½ teaspoon black pepper
-
Optional garnish: fresh lemon wedges, parsley, or dill
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Pat the salmon fillets dry and place them skin-side down on the baking sheet.
- Drizzle with olive oil and rub to coat evenly.
- In a small bowl, mix smoked paprika, cumin, coriander, garlic powder, cayenne, salt, and black pepper.
- Sprinkle the spice mixture evenly over the salmon, gently pressing it into the flesh.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
- Remove from the oven and rest for 2 minutes.
- Serve with lemon wedges and fresh herbs if desired.
Notes
- For crispier edges, broil for the last 1–2 minutes.
- This spice blend pairs beautifully with rice, couscous, or roasted vegetables.
- Swap cayenne for chili powder or Aleppo pepper for a different heat profile.
- Also works great in a skillet or air fryer (400°F for 7–9 minutes).
