Sweet Chili Cauliflower

Ingredients

  • Crispy Cauliflower:
  • 1 large head cauliflower, cut into bite-sized florets
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • ¾ cup water or milk
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Cooking spray or oil for baking
  • Sweet Chili Sauce:
  • ½ cup sweet chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon honey or brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon sriracha (optional)
  • Optional Garnish:
  • Green onions, sliced
  • Sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, water, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  3. Add cauliflower florets and toss until fully coated.
  4. Spread cauliflower in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Lightly spray with oil.
  5. Bake for 20 minutes, flip, then bake another 5–10 minutes until crispy and golden.
  6. While baking, whisk together all sweet chili sauce ingredients in a saucepan. Simmer over medium heat for 3–5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  7. Remove cauliflower from oven and toss immediately with the warm sauce.
  8. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, use an air fryer at 400°F for 12–15 minutes.
  • Serve as an appetizer, over rice, or in lettuce wraps.
  • Adjust sweetness or heat by adding more honey or sriracha.
  • Best enjoyed fresh while crispy.
  • Make it vegan by using maple syrup instead of honey.
